Mosquito Records London Pty Ltd is proud to announce the release of a new original single by South African singer-songwriter, producer and author Ike Moriz.

"Here's To You, Maman" is a heartfelt tribute to Ike's mother, Waltraud Moriz (née Pestrup), who passed away on 7 May 2026 at the age of 82.

Written in the weeks following her passing, the song celebrates a remarkable woman whose optimism, generosity, love of music and unwavering devotion to family touched the lives of everyone around her.

Rather than focusing on loss, the song is a celebration of life.

"My mother always saw the sunshine first," says Moriz. "Even after experiencing war, hardship and personal loss, she remained positive, hopeful and deeply interested in other people. She had an extraordinary ability to bring light into difficult situations and to make people feel valued. This song is my way of saying thank you."

The recording features a rich contemporary arrangement including piano, bass, drums, percussion, strings and layered vocal harmonies. Combining elements of Adult Contemporary and orchestral pop, the song carries a message of gratitude, remembrance and enduring love.

Many of the images found in the lyrics are drawn directly from family memories: music around the piano, Sunday breakfasts, holidays, laughter, flowers in the garden and countless conversations between mother and son.

The recurring chorus:

"Here's to you, Maman
Through the joy and the pain, Maman
You were always there, Maman
You did always care, Maman"

serves as both a personal farewell and a universal tribute to mothers everywhere.

The release follows an intensely emotional period for Moriz and his family. After losing his father in 2024, the singer's latest single "Artcore" became a source of comfort for his mother during her final months. The new song completes a deeply personal chapter in the artist's life and catalogue.
